Duty of Care applies to every business in the UK. This course will provide a broad understanding & awareness of the practical requirements needed to support your company so it remains compliant with your Duty of Care & legislation. This course will cover the management and transfer of waste.

  • Understand the classification of waste and, when dealing with waste, know how to use the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) codes to classify waste
  • Be able to identify key obligations and responsibilities of the waste Duty of Care
  • Be familiar with the revised Code of Practice
  • Understand who is an authorised person
  • Understand how to complete a waste transfer/ information note
  • Be aware of the consequences of noncompliance with duty of care and waste legislation
  • Appreciate your role and that of others in directing how waste is managed and controlled, including the role of auditing
